Autumn Paine (formerly HajMohammad) earned her Juris Doctor, with distinction, from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law in Sacramento. While a full-time student she clerked for the California Chamber of Commerce, and then the Sacramento County District Attorney's Office as well as the McGeorge Civil Practice Clinic. She graduated with honors and was granted membership into the presigious Traynor Honor Society.
She began her career at the Kern County Public Defender's Office in Bakersfield, CA where she represented clients in jury trials, plea negotiations, and petitions for writs of habeas corpus.
In 2008, Autumn Paine moved her practice to Oakland, where she continues to aggressively advocate for those charged or convicted of crimes.

prosecutor alleged this 19 year old young woman with no prior
criminal record had, along with a friend, brutally beaten a
home-less man. While the prosecutor relied on tragic photos of
the victim's injuries, Ms. Paine critically examined the testimony
of the six witnesses, resulting in a not-guilty
verdict.
